Divorce, Separation & Children

Childhood is already loaded with challenges and difficulties. Divorce and separations are one complication that many children should never have to face according to recent longitudinal studies. Often people may use extreme situations like physical, emotional, or substance abuse as reasons for justifying all break-ups. While there are certainly situations that require immediate and perhaps even professional attention, Fight 4 Kids does not recognize all separations and divorces as necessary and encourages parents to consider seeking therapy and other tools to support the relationship. Each family situation is unique and decisions that affect the safety and stability of a child will sometimes require the assistance of a professional or law enforcement.

Recent studies have shown that divorces have caused difficulties for the children involved all the way into adulthood. If you are not in a dangerous or abusive situation and you love your children, we believe that there may be solutions available to improve your marital relationship. When recent studies are concluding, they are not showing a positive relationship between Children and Divorce. The reason this website offers online support and tools to locate a therapist and other resources is to help prevent divorces or separations from happening through effective intervention. We are not here to make decisions for anyone and we are not professionals, thus we can only provide information regarding some of the available resources.*

If you are married and need help improving your relationship, you might take advantage of our online marriage classes, online forums, recommended reading, or perhaps consider reviewing the listings of therapists in your area. Even if you still divorce, your children may thank you later for realistically trying your best to make it work.
