Investments: How to grow a class from a little seed... to reality.
The
most interesting thing about Parent Road is that it is loaded with parents who
want more out of life.
It doesn't take us long to learn that parenting involves a
lot of our time, money and sometimes even sanity. The reason that Parent Road
was built was to facilitate the collaboration of practical-minded parents to
decide what works and what doesn't work; what makes us feel more engaged in
loving ourselves, our peers, and of course, our children.
Currently, ALL funding of Parent Road is from parents and no other source. To
put it plain, we will certainly be forced to shut down this site if our services
are not doing the job and if parents are not supporting us 100% of the way. This
especially includes all new research and development, like building new classes.
We will keep our ability to stand-up for practical approaches that empower
parents, rather than settling on a politically correct position to please a
government committee, a university, or a corporate sponsor. The best way to
avoid such beaurocratic nonsense is to make sure our funding stays with those
who truly need Parent Road: Parents.
The vision that started this organization is still alive and strong and must be
protected. Although we are a 501c3 public charity, we refuse grants and
financial interests from outside organizations to prevent conflicts of interest
and "people-pleasing'. In a nutshell, our organization will end as soon as you
discount your true role here.
Our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers work aggressively with the
investments you make here at Parent Road. That means, if you want one of the
classes built and running as soon as possible, you can invest your money in that
particular class.
Currently, the expenses involved in building a class are somewhere in the range
of $5,000. We look for 75% of the total costs before we break ground on a new
class. This means that if 75 people donate $50, the two-month process of
development will begin.
If making an investment like this interests you, please donate towards the class
you believe would be most practical for yourself or the parents you know.
